Students enjoyed learning about the Green Og. We practiced metacognitive thinking as we reflected on when we've felt like Green OGs - strange creatures that don't seem to fit in. Everyone could relate to feeling that way on some days and several students were surprised to see that they weren't the only ones who ever felt that way. Students share things they do to feel better when they are out of sorts or feel different. Ideas included yelling into or punching pillows, snuggling with a parent, grandparent, or favorite stuffed animal.
Afterwards, we reviewed habitats and what living things need to live. Students asked many critical questions about what the strange Green Og might need in a habitat and created habitats for their Green Ogs. Below are their works of art. Notice all the St. Patrick's Day spirit!
