The pictures of student analyzing items are their desks are from our observe and sort lesson. Students practiced observation, analysis, and classification as they sorted the items into categories of their choosing. Each child was asked to explain his or her reasons for sorting their items as they did.
Continuing to act as scientists and focusing on the scientific skills of classification and observation, kindergarteners explored the Kingston garden. Armed with iPads and magnifying glasses, students found tasty cherry tomatoes basil, marigold seeds, ladybugs, stink bugs and a variety of end of season veggies still on the vine. They were enthusiastic scientists as they completed their work.
